Development of responsible business

In order to involve businesses in the implementation of national development goals set by the President of Russia, an assessment methodology has been developed in the Central Federal District that takes into account both economic indicators, financial stability and the absence of violations in the implementation of entrepreneurial activities, as well as the impact of business on the environment, the level of social responsibility to employees and their families, fulfillment of obligations to clients and partners, participation in charity, support of local communities in the regions of presence.

Assessment of business entities is carried out in three areas:

• ecology – the degree of impact on the environment, the use of the best available technologies and the implementation of environmental projects;
• personnel – the level of remuneration, corporate social and demographic programs, charitable projects;
• the state – tax history and reliability, social investment in the regions of presence, financial stability.

Based on the results of the comprehensive assessment, participants are assigned an EPS rating (ecology, personnel, state). The rating results are published in the public domain on the website EPS-RATING.RF in the information and telecommunications network Internet.
The Project Investment Office has developed a model law on the development of responsible business management, aimed at supporting responsible companies.

Based on the model law and the EPS rating, regional laws  “On the development of responsible business management” were adopted.
