Development of responsible business

In order to involve businesses in the implementation of the national development goals set by the President of Russia, the Central Federal District has developed an assessment methodology that takes into account both economic indicators, financial stability, and the absence of violations in business activities, as well as the impact of business on the environment, the level of social responsibility towards employees and their families, compliance with obligations towards customers and partners, participation in charity, and support for local communities in the regions of presence.

The assessment of business entities is carried out in three areas:
• Ecology – the degree of environmental impact, the use of the best available technologies, and the implementation of environmental projects;
• Personnel – the level of remuneration, corporate social and demographic programs, and charitable projects;
• The state – tax history and reliability, social investment in the regions of presence, and financial stability.

Based on the results of the comprehensive assessment, participants are assigned an EPS-rating (ecology, personnel, and state). The rating results are publicly available on the website EPS-RATING.RF in the information and telecommunications network Internet.
The Investment Project Office has developed a model law on the development of responsible business practices aimed at supporting responsible companies.

Based on the model law and the EPS-rating, regional laws on the development of responsible business practices have been adopted.
