Igor Shchegolev: Responsible businesses gain real benefits thanks to the ECG rating

According to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Central Federal District, work on the ECG rating began in 2022 with the assessment of about 40,000 companies in the Central Federal District. Today, the tool covers more than 95% of active enterprises across Russia, including small businesses, individual entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations.

“This is not just a measurement tool. It is a tool that entails certain government benefits. Companies that perform well on our metrics have more opportunities to interact with the government,” he said during the session “Business Reputation: Innovations in the ECG Rating and Best Practices for Government Support of Responsible Business.”
Shchegolev also noted that the ECG rating has become not only a tool for assessing business reputation, but also a mechanism for providing government benefits. In the regions, companies with high performance have the opportunity to undergo certain administrative procedures in a simplified manner.
